diy face powder – pure simple ingredients
I’m so excited to share this DIY face powder recipe. You can easily make your own and stop using chemicals on you skin. Loose the expensive of overpriced face powder. It only takes minutes to make. Easily create your perfect powder color. Did I say budget friendly? Almost everything needed is right in the kitchen.
Ditch the toxic make-up and create a diy face powder
I only use very natural brands of make-up. They go a long way and the only things I purchase are eye shadows and mascara. Since I loved my DIY face powder, I did experiment with eye shadow. I never came up with the deep rich color I was looking for. Every combination looked pale on me.
I used arrowroot power as my DIY face powder base for years. After more experimenting I found that I like white clay even more. If you decide to use arrowroot powder, non GMO is the best kind to use.
Face powder is quick and easy to make
1 Tablespoon of White Kaolin Clay
1 Teaspoon of Cacao Powder
1/2 Teaspoon of Cinnamon
This recipe is simple. All you need to do is mix your powders together.
Add Cacao and cinnamon in 1/4 tsp. increments. I do smell cinnamon when I put this on my face. The smell quickly dissipates and I personally love cinnamon.
I suggest you start out small and write down each 1/4 teaspoon you add. This will assist you in finding your perfect color. I also found it helpful to look at a power I was using at the time. It was a helpful way to get a better close to the color I needed. Sometimes I add nutmeg, but the batch pictured didn’t seem to need any.
Give this recipe a try
I found that make-up setting spray makes a huge difference on how well powder stays on your skin. Spray your brush and dip it into your powdered foundation. When your done applying make-up and before you add mascara close your eyes and spray your face.
